Getting here & travel

As part of our environmental commitment at CHAMFEST, we encourage everyone who visits the festival to do so via public transport wherever possible. We will be working with the local train and bus services to facilitate this.

Chamonix Bus

Our CHAMFEST site at Les Planards does not have a dedicated bus stop, but there are two bus stops close by. One is at Place du Mont Blanc, and the other is the Betty stop on the dedicated bike-bus line (V2).

The Chamonix Bus network serves the whole valley, so if you're coming to CHAMFEST from Les Houches or the top of the valley, then why not jump on the bus? You could park at Le Prarion car park in Les Houches or at the Flégère carpark in Les Praz.

Make the most of the evening entertainments at CHAMFEST and head home in safety using the night bus - Chamo'nuit. Buses run every 45 minutes from 9pm; it is necessary to book in advance on +33 (0) 4 50 53 05 55 and cost is 2€ per person.

See the summer 2018 bus timetables.

Chamonix Train

Taking the train is another environmentally friendly option for getting to CHAMFEST. Chamonix's train station is right in the town centre, only 10 minutes' walk from the festival site.

The train runs until 8pm; See the train timetables for summer 2018.

Parking in Chamonix

We encourage festival-goers to take public transport if possible when coming to CHAMFEST, to minimise our collective environmental impact. If you do need to come by car, there are two car parks close to the Planards festival site, from where you can walk to CHAMFEST.

  • Parking du Grepon: 800 places
  • Route du Bouchet: 300 places

There are other payable car parks close to the festival site, including at Place du Mont Blanc and Parking du Corzolet. These car parks also have recharging points for electric cars.

Alternatively, you can avoid bringing your car into Chamonix by parking elsewhere in the valley and catching the bus or train to CHAMFEST e.g. parking at Flégère in Les Praz, in Les Houches, etc.

Festival-goers with reduced mobility can park on-site at Les Planards.

See the map and prices for all car parks in Chamonix.

Travelling from abroad

If you're arriving by plane, make sure you look at flights to Geneva Airport which is closest to Chamonix. Instead of driving to Chamonix from the airport, why not buddy up and book a shared transfer? We're partnered with Chamonix Valley Transfers who offer a friendly and reliable door-to-door service.

Chamonix Valley Transfers are one of Tripadvisor's favourite transfer companies. If you book through our CHAMFEST transfer page you will automatically benefit from a 10% discount on their normal prices.

Carbon Calculator

We want CHAMFEST to be an eco-friendly addition to the summer events calendar in Chamonix. As part of this commitment, we're offering festival goers a carbon calculator where you can offset your carbon emissions.
