The Chamonix valley is long and comprised of different villages and towns, so it can be difficult to know where to base yourself.
Les Houches is at the entrance of Chamonix valley and has a warm, family-friendly vibe. During the Chamonix summer season, its pastures are beautiful for exploring on walks and hikes, and it's also one of the mountain-biking zones of Chamonix valley. The Bellevue lift opens on 16th June during CHAMFEST so you'll be able to enjoy it along with our festival if you choose to base yourself at one of our accommodation partners in Les Houches, such as RockyPop.
Chamonix town centre is home to Les Planards which is the location for this year's CHAMFEST festival. It's also got the highest number of shops, restaurants and bars of any of the villages which make up Chamonix valley. The Brevent and Aiguille du Midi cable cars in the town centre will be open for the Chamonix summer season from 8th June.
All this makes Chamonix a great choice for somewhere to stay, from a luxury chalet to a self-catered apartment hosted by Chamonix All Year, or the Heliopic or Auberge du Manoir hotels.
Les Praz is a pretty and popular village within walking distance of Chamonix town centre. The Flegere cable car in Les Praz will open on 16th June during the weekend of our Chamonix festival, giving access to some lovely walks and hikes at altitude. Les Praz is a great location for chalet accommodation, and Chamonix All Year have some beautiful choices.
Argentière & Le Tour are idyllic villages at the top of Chamonix valley, with a mix of local inhabitants and family-run hotels. The cable car in Le Tour will open over the weekend of CHAMFEST too.
